Pencilcase

Pencilcase - inspired as an item typology - is an enveloped object casing containing essential tools for work that can be carried around. Similarly, a cardboard box shares the qualities of defined space most often used as a temporary storage solution "transponding" different usage states of objects. Based on these 'morphemes', creating an open and highlighted workstation storage and display item in symbolically modern - optimally lightweight, still resistant and enduring, but industrially indefinitely cyclable - aluminium material pays tribute to natural material wonders, humane ingenuity and practical work.

Something of a truly significant Pistejaviiva design resolution; Pencilcase is a desktop pencil and stationery holder defined by 'cardboard box' analogy made of delicate two-piece interlocking structure with folded 1mm untreated aluminium that literally epitomises an old idiom. The slightly deconstructed box with slanted display of readily poised instruments removes borders between a hand and tool of creativity for all visual construction inclined handicraft artists and artisans alike. Since drawing is - indeed - thinking in its most visible form. Design created in 2024 by Heikki Herranen, Pistejaviiva.
